| | 1 Peter 2:19 "For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God" today i just want to talk about something real simple, yet something we often fail to do- and that is to be conscious of God. Many times we are reminded of God's omniscience, of his everpresence, yet it sometimes escapes us in bad times, that God is sovereign in all situations. By being conscious of God, we are then able to go through with the things of life with a different kind of mindset- one that works for the glory of Christ, and one that bears the name of Christ. Taking this somewhere within closer proximity to our hearts, which is to love the unlovable one who is always alone in class, who is always left out for conversation and sometimes IS the subject conversation. No one takes the effort to listen to them or show them love, and we barely feel the need to do so. However, we know that as ambassadors of Christ, our jobs are to spread the message of Christ's love, not just with spoken words but with acts that are oftentimes beyond ourselves. God does not call us to be apathetic bystanders, but people who carry in them Christlikeness and carry the heart of Christ. Maybe God is speaking to you about forgiving someone, even when it seems like there is no rightful need for you to do such a thing. Perhaps it seems that the extent of betrayal has been far too great, or perhaps you cannot find the strength to mend a particular relationship. Sometimes we would rather let time decompose the animosity, or whatever that has taken place. But that is not right, nowhere in the bible does it say "let time heal wounds, let time do this and let let do that". Leaving things to time may be a demonstration of faith, but God says faith without action is dead. Also, we are choosing to escape issues instead of confronting them. Time would not heal wounds but genuity in love will. No matter how difficult the situatinion is, we should rememeber to be conscious of God, and the level of difficulty will be halved and shared between the cross and yourself, and in doing so, people will see the consistency of God that is in love, through the love of fellow members in the body of Christ, as well through the ones that you find hard to love. Indeed, in the contemporary sense, Christ's promises can be so relavant to every issue that we may be facing. All it takes is the realisation of God's sovereignty, and even if it seems like there is no way out, God will provide you one. God bless! |
